Amy Jo DeClaire was first appointed Brown County Recorder to finish the unexpired term of retiring Recorder, Gary Himes, in September of 2008.  Amy was elected Recorder, in the general election in November 2008, for her first full term commencing January 2009.

 

She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Derry Pursley and Deborah Hopkins (nee Liming) both of Mt. Orab.  Amy graduated from Western Brown High School in 1995.  She has a Bachelor's degree in accounting from Wilmington College and a Master's in Business Administration from Xavier University.

 

In March of 2002 Amy married Danny DeClaire, the son of Dan and Gail DeClaire, of Sardinia.   Amy and Danny, have three children and live in Washington Township.
