Amy Jo DeClaire was first appointed to the Brown County Recorder’s office to finish the term of outgoing Recorder, Gary Himes, on September 1, 2008. Amy was elected Brown County Recorder for her first full term commencing January 2009.
She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Derry Pursley and Deborah Hopkins (nee Liming) and spent the first 7 years of her life in their home in Mount Orab. She graduated from Western Brown High School in 1995. She has a Bachelor's degree in accounting from Wilmington College and a Master's in Business Administration from Xavier University.
In March of 2002 Amy married Daniel D. DeClaire II, the son of Daniel and Gail DeClaire. Amy and Danny, have three children and live in Washington Township.
